The Beauty of a North Star
Many of my past years were guided by the mantra “Move!”
The literal take on this found expression in my engagement in various sports and movement practices. I especially fell in love with yoga and hiking, enjoying the flow of energy in my body on the mat, and the changing scenery around me in nature. Although these practices were and are deeply nourishing, the call “to move” was never satisfied.
On another level, this theme has accompanied me throughout my professional career. I took on many different roles to fit into jobs, gave my best to match my skills and mold myself into the person best suited to the position. Even so I expanded my knowledge and learned that I was very adaptable, my heart kept pulling me forward.
When asked what kind of life I really wanted to live, my usual answer was, “I don’t know.” And it dawned on me that unless I had a target in mind, I probably couldn’t move at all. Movement can only really be measure in perspective.
What I needed war a north star.
That’s how I came to Lifebook.
